frequently asked questions
where are you located and how DO i meet the kittens?
We are located in Miami, Florida. We would be glad to set up a play date so you can meet and select your kitten. We do not ship our kittens. Pick-up only.
What’S the preferred way to contact you?
I prefer to initially communicate via text and after that I’d be glad to speak with you on the phone.
are the kittens socialized?
HOW WERE THEY RAISED?
Our kittens are raised in our home as part of our family, along with their mom and dad. They are handled, played with and loved from early on - ALOT! They are kept with their mom and siblings until they go to their forever home - nursed until about 8 weeks. They learn to love and trust people from me and they learn how to play gently from their siblings so they are less likely to scratch or bite. We expose them to the world - they even ride in cars. They are happy, loving kittens that enjoy the world around them and fear little.
These kittens are very likely to be that rare “lap kitty” you’ve been dreaming of. And they will probably cuddle up to sleep with you if you want them to.
when is the kitten ready to go to his forever home?
Responsible breeders generally do not separate the kittens from their mom and siblings before 12 weeks. This allows them to be properly socialized. Anyone who offers you an 8-week old kitten is not being a responsible parent to those kittens.
If conditions are right, we may let them go home at 10 weeks - so you can enjoy more of their fun “kitten” time.
HOW DO I GET ON A WAITING LIST OR RESERVE A KITTEN?
Contact us via text to request to be put on a Waiting List for an upcoming litter - first come first served. We’ll notify you when the kittens are a 3-4 weeks old so you can see pictures and decide if you want to reserve a kitten. You can reserve a pick - first pick, second pick, etc. - or a specific kitten - with a deposit made in person. If you reserved a pick you would choose your kitten when they are 6-8 weeks old. At that point we would have a good take on their personality and what they will look like as they grow.
WHAT IS INCLUDED WITH A KITTEN PURCHASE?
The kittens will be vaccinated as appropriate for their age. Breeding rights are included at no additional price so it’s your choice whether you neuter or spay them - it is recommended if you do not plan to breed them. Many breeders require you to pay for breeding rights.
You will receive a breeder slip to register your kitten with TICA (this is your pedigree or “papers”) and your kitten - and his or her kittens, should you choose to breed them - are more valuable because they have that pedigree.
We also provide some starter food to transition them and a gift bag full of fun toys, a scratch pad and other starter kitten items. If they have a favorite toy they will go home with it. We want the transition to be as easy as possible.
And after you take your kitten home, we are always available if you have any questions or concerns.
wIll the kitten GET ALONG WITH MY OTHER PETS?
Generally they will get along with your pets over time. They should get along with your other cats, but how well they get along will depend more so on your other cat than on the kitten. Some factors that affect that are how you introduce them to each other and your cat’s age and temperament. We have tips on that our Kitten Care Guide. Our little Denali (now Mila) went to an owner who wanted a companion for her cat - I’m glad to say they are getting on amazing!
The kittens have met some family dogs but they have not necessarily taken to them. I would expect that over time with the family dog they will get along. But like with other cats, there are many factors that determine how successful you are in creating this bond.
